Victim Rescued from a Hotel
On September 12, 2023, we learned about a minor being exploited in a hotel in Agra, UP. We made plans to go to Agra and present the evidence to the police so that we could rescue the girl.
On September 14, we arrived in Agra. We called the Police Commissioner who asked us to meet him the next morning in his office.
At 11 a.m. we arrived at the Police Commissioner’s office. We gave him our information on the minor and told him about Freedom Firm. Eager to help, he directed us to an officer who would handle the rescue. We then met the Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) who would also assist us with the raid. After consulting the evidence provided, the ACP agreed to initiate the raid the next day.
On September 16, we were at the ACP’s office at 11 a.m. She was working out-of-office and asked us to go to the police station and meet the officers who were briefed about the rescue. Soon after, she arrived. We discussed rescue strategies as we waited for members of the Anti-Human-Trafficking Unit. They arrived at 1:48 p.m. and minutes later we were on our way to the hotel to rescue the victim.
An hour later, the police and our team raided the hotel. We found the victim, 15-year-old Rohini, right away. The police arrested the pimp, the brothel manager, a woman, and a customer from the hotel.
Then the police collected evidence from the brothel; cigarettes, packets of condoms, money, mobile phones, used condoms, and alcohol. After they completed their initial report, we headed to the police station.
At the police station, Rohini shared her details and the police filed a First Information Report. Rohini was taken for her medical test and then placed in a shelter home. The accused remained in police custody.
