On the legal front, we are expecting a number of BIG breakthroughs. Five survivors and a number of witnesses from different cases testified in court over the last two years. They were examined, cross examined, encouraged, intimidated, appreciated, shamed...
As February closed, all witnesses had testified. All that is left is for the judge to consider all the evidence and then pass the a verdict.
These are strong cases and we are confident of the judge passing between 5-7 convictions; fines and prison sentences.
Each survivor had their day in court. Now they wait for justice. Justice keep perpetrators from continuing to prey on more girls, it discourages others from continuing the practice, and it can provide a measure of healing and validation for the victims.
