Eight girls listened attentively as social worker Catherine shared about problem solving and making decisions. Catherine asked for examples of problems they encountered and how they solved them. One survivor shared,
“Back home, there was a time when I was not working. My husband had a job, but refused to give me any money. We had small children and I was so worried about how I would feed them. I started growing plants and vegetables around my house. While I kept some aside for cooking, I started selling them to the market. I was able to earn some money. So, this was the solution to my problem.”
We hope all the shelter home residents develop similar problem solving skills!
