On March 20, 2025, while our team was investigating Joara, MP, we received intel that a 13-year-old child was being sexually exploited in one of the villages.Â
On March 24, after we had gathered sufficient evidence, we met the Assistant Superintendent of Police from Jaora. After examining the evidence, he agreed to send an intervention team along with the police to initiate a raid.Â
On March 25, we discussed rescue strategies with the intervention team and police. Then the police and our teams proceeded to the location.Â

At 4:58 p.m., we raided the brothel together and rescued Sarita. The female brothel keeper managed to escape during the raid.
After the police completed their post-rescue procedures, Sarita was taken to the Dhodhar Police Station to record her statement. The police filed a First Information Report under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act (ITPA) Sections 3, 4, 5, and 6, along with IPC 370, POCSO Sections 3/17, and BNSS. These sections will strengthen Sarita’s case in court.
We accompanied Sarita to her medical exams. Then the Child Welfare Committee then ordered that Sarita be placed in a shelter home, where she remains safe and is beginning a journey of healing.
