The restoration process is long and complex. Bringing healing to a girl or young woman after years of sexual abuse requires a variety of approaches. In addition to organizing group sessions, our social workers call survivors individually. This special time to talk one-on-one helps the girls feel secure and supported. Unlike the group sessions, these calls give the girls the opportunity to discuss whatever feels most challenging or urgent in their lives.
Our social workers discuss a variety of topics, some theoretical and some practical. In order to improve communication skills, each girl was asked to prepare a story to share during the next session.
