What happens after rescue?

Kanika is 17 years old and was rescued on October 22nd from a brothel in Maharashtra. Since then Kanika has stayed in a shelter home. You can read her rescue story here.

On November 11th, Freedom Firm social worker Rupeli visited Kanika’s home in Madhya Pradesh. Sadly, the community in Kanika’s village is known to sell their daughters into prostitution. Our team is advocating that Kanika remains in the shelter home because she may be trafficked again if she returns home.
